Retirement Actuary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform financial projections, including the preparation of actuarial projections and budget projections.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models to support actuarial projections and valuations.
  • Provide actuarial consulting and support to clients, including the interpretation of actuarial reports, actuarial projections, and retirement plan design.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of retirement plan performance, including the evaluation of plan funding status, asset allocation strategies, and demographic trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other stakeholders to provide exceptional customer service and support.

Retirement Actuary Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional actuarial certification (e.g., ASA, FSA)
  • Experience with pension software and actuarial tools
  • Strong background in pension and retirement plan regulations
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Higher proficiency in statistical analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with funding arrangements and plan terminations
  • Project management experience
  • Advanced degree in actuarial science, finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in consulting or financial services
