What is a Payroll Analyst ?

A Payroll Analyst is a professional responsible for the administration of an organization's payroll process. This includes the calculation, withholding and disbursement of employee salaries, wages and benefits. The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time, in compliance with federal and state laws, and company policies and procedures.

In addition to processing payroll, a Payroll Analyst may also be responsible for maintaining payroll records, reconciling payroll-related accounts, and providing information to management and employees regarding payroll-related issues. The Payroll Analyst may also be responsible for coordinating with other departments, such as Human Resources and Accounting, to ensure that all payroll-related activities are properly aligned with overall business objectives.

Payroll Analyst also plays an important role in compliance and reporting, including the filing and remitting of payroll taxes and the preparation of related payroll reports and returns. They also assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and provide support for audits and financial analysis.   • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
