What is a Cardiac Interventional Care Nurse ?

A Cardiac Interventional Care Nurse, also known as a Cardiac Catheterization Nurse, is a specialized type of nurse who works in the field of interventional cardiology. These nurses are responsible for providing care to patients undergoing invasive procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement. They work closely with interventional cardiologists and other members of the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care before, during, and after their procedures. The role of a Cardiac Interventional Care Nurse is both challenging and rewarding. They must have a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care for patients undergoing invasive procedures. They must also be able to work well under pressure and be able to think critically and make quick decisions in emergency situations. In addition to providing direct patient care, Cardiac Interventional Care Nurses also play an important role in patient education and follow-up care. They work with patients and their families to explain the procedure, provide pre- and post-procedure instructions, and monitor the patient's progress after the procedure. They also work with the interventional cardiologist to develop a plan of care for each patient, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that the plan is carried out.
